Privacy policy

This policy covers this website and the Talkzyo plugin. The two are separate, and the difference matters: buying from us involves your data, but running the plugin on your own site does not send us any.

Who we are

This site is operated by KAINELABS LTD, trading as Talkzyo. We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

The plugin does not send us your data

Talkzyo stores conversations in your own WordPress database, in its own tables. We never receive them. The plugin contacts no service of ours: it checks no licence, reports no usage and phones home nowhere.

Two features reach outside your server, and both only because somebody on your site acted:

The plugin's readme lists each of these with what is sent and links to that provider's terms. If you enable hosted realtime delivery, the service is told only that a conversation has a new message id - never the message.

What this website collects

When you buy a licence

We collect your name, email address, billing address and the country we need for tax. Card details are entered on Stripe and never reach our server - we store only the reference Stripe gives us, so we can match a payment to a licence and issue a refund.

The lawful basis is performance of a contract: without this we cannot sell you a licence, deliver the download or support it.

When you contact us

We keep what you send and our reply, so a later conversation starts where the last one ended.

When you just read the site

Our server keeps standard request logs, which include IP addresses, for security and debugging.

Who we share it with

Only the processors we need to run the business: Stripe for payments, our hosting provider, and our email provider. Each handles the data on our instructions. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

Order and invoice records are kept as long as tax law requires. Support conversations are kept while they are useful and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to us and we will answer within one month.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk. If you live elsewhere in the EEA you may complain to your own national authority instead.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will say so on this page rather than change it quietly.
